Here is a flooring tip;

An important option in any remodel is flooring. As in all construction jobs, you want to start from the ground up.

Choosing a wooden floor, laminate or tile gives you a wide varitety of options. Remember, you want flooring that is not only easy to vclean, but will also  stand up to the heavy traffic you will be getting in your home.

Going green on your kitchen remodeling project in Boulder, not only makes sense for the environment, but can save you money. Keep these kitchen ideas in mind for your  remodeling project.

Use natural light as much as possible. Strategic use of windows and skylights can make a huge difference in your energy bill. Your lighting should be designed to take advantage of nature. Overuse of recessed and track lighting may not be necessary. Use as much lighting as you need. With as much sunshine as we get in Boulder, this can be a great way to save money. And natural lighing is the best use of envormental resources.

Make sure all of your plumbing fixtures are low flow. Wasting water is never a good idea. You will be saving water with low flow fixtures and you will use less hot water, which will also increase your energy savings.

Don’t discount the energy saving power of insulation. The type of insulation you use in your kitchen walls and ceilings can ensure you and your family will be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Your kitchen design should be based on the proper amount of insulation based on your own climate.

Use building materials that are made to last. Even though the materials may have an environmental appeal, they need to be able to stand up to every day use. Kitchen materials that don’t last will have to be replaced. This will end up costing you more money in the long run. Remember this as you choose your countertops and flooring.

Consider using a solar water hot water heater. One of the biggest expenses for any home is hot water. Your kitchen uses a large amount of hot water. Going green in this area can save big dividends.

If a solar hot water heater is not possible, consider a tankless on-demand water heater. There are a number of different types available. You will not be wasting energy costs on unused hot water. You will only be paying for water that you actually use.

Remember with the best energy plan for your kitchen remodel, you not only will help the environment but you will also be saving money. Going green can add up to big savings for the planet and your wallet. And nothing can be better than that.
